This guided meditation will help you slow down and enjoy a better connection with yourself, your animal and the world around you.

this is a guided meditation to help you
communicate with your animal you will
need to have a notepad and pen
and write down the questions you have
for your animal before beginning this
practice
having a few questions ready will make
the meditation flow a lot more smoothly
without
unnecessary interruption you can
practice this meditation with your
animal in the room next to you
or with a picture of your animal it's
best if your animal is on their own on
the picture
and the picture needs to be in focus
with the animal looking at the camera
with no red eye effect first it might
seem that it's taking you a long time to
get ready but the more you practice this
the quicker you will be
you need to be in a good place when you
connect with animals
as animals especially your animals are
very sensitive to your emotions and
energies
so find a quiet space where you will not
be disturbed or interrupted
turn off your phone and sit comfortably
remove any clothing or jewelry that may
be too tight
or uncomfortable undo your belt
and remove your watch however you're sat
just be sure that the spine is straight
and your breathing is comfortable
firstly scan your body from head to toe
and notice
how are you feeling is there any tension
held anywhere
how do you feel emotionally is there any
pain or soreness
take a mental note of this so that you
can better distinguish between
your own mental emotional and physical
sensations
and those that you may receive from the
animal you're communicating with
feel grounded in the present moment free
from distraction
and we'll start with the pranayama a
breath controlled exercise
to help you relax and quieten the
thought wave of your mind
so focus on your breathing
what is it like
can during your in breath and out breath
you may find that your in-breath
is a count of six and your out breath is
a five or six or seven
that's fine just breathe naturally
and don't force anything
then gradually extend the out breath
three counts longer
let's say your in breath is a six then
make your out breath a nine for a few
rounds
then in your own time see if you can
make your out breath
twice as long as your in-breath gently
without forcing it
if you'd rather stay at a count of 12
that's fine
but extending the out breath further is
very beneficial
if you're comfortable doing so just be
kind to yourself
then gradually reduce the out breath
until it's equal with your in-breath
let go of the technique and observe your
natural breath
you should feel more relaxed by now
if any thoughts come to your mind then
just acknowledge them
and allow them to pass without attaching
yourself to them or following them
as if you were watching clouds passing
by
don't get caught up with the thoughts
don't try to suppress them just let them
pass
when you're ready lower your attention
to your heart area
you can visualize your heart as a
beautiful flower opening
a pink rose or a lotus flower
some people see their heart emerald
green and that's fine too
then look at the photo of your animal or
look at her or him
if they're in the room
if you're looking at a photo look
through the eyes
and tell them that you love them think
of all the things you love about them
it can be their fur their eyes their
temperament
and then tell them you would like to
communicate with them
tell them you need them to help you to
learn how to communicate with animals
you can say it out loud or you can say
it silently
if the animal is with you then they
don't need to be looking at you
sure their presence is enough they might
look asleep but animals are often
quietly contemplating and wait for the
answer
stay focused on your heart area for the
heart is what is receiving these
messages
before your brain gets involved and we
interpret the transmission for you
now ask your questions one at a time and
wait for the answers
as soon as something comes up feelings
pain
visions sounds taste write it all down
do not sort through anything even if it
seems crazy just write it all down
the first answer to come up is very
likely to be the most accurate one
don't spend any time wondering if you're
imagining it or doubting that it's
actually happening
because the animal might sense this if
they sense you doubtful then they might
feel you will not listen to them or
believe what they're sharing with you
see how it goes let it flow but most
importantly
just embrace the possibility that it is
actually happening
depending on what type of person you are
you might hear a voice
receive mental images or feelings you
might translate the experience into
words because that's what we humans do
but you will initially receive the
messages as feelings through your heart
ask open questions and keep it playful
at first
don't break up that very deep question
straight away see how it goes and enjoy
it
if you find your mind wanders off then
the quickest way to return to that heart
centered space is to express gratitude
think of what you're grateful for in
that very moment
for gracefulness is a very
heart-centered sensation
and carry on when you leave the
conversation
and when you're done say thank you and
visualize yourself and the animal in the
pink safe and cozy bubble
visualize that the bubble splits into
two and you and the animal are in two
different bubbles
and you both feel safe it feels like a
big hug
